The 8th Grade science curriculum includes a technology/engineering requirement at the end of the year. During this time of year, the 8th Grade team prepares for this requirement by learning about the Manufacturing Process. The unit covers information about how products are designed, created and sold to the public. To help connect this unit to the real world, our students will be creating some great wood products to then sell to the community. The class will do this as they learn about the manufacturing process, including marketing, design and quality control.

The class will be grouped into smaller companies. Each company will be responsible for producing, marketing, and selling one product. Each company will have the opportunity to design, fabricate, build, and sell their product to the community. The proceeds go back to the students for an end of the year celebration.

We cannot do this though without your help. We need donations of supplies and support to make this happen. We appreciate any support you can give our class. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me anytime. Thank you for your time and your support.
